Qld Guinea Pig Refuge Open Days!
The Qld Guinea Pig Refuge does not have an actual 'Refuge'. All our guinea pigs live with foster carers in their homes. The Refuge holds open days on the first and third Saturday of every month at
The Bald Hills Scout Den
508 Bracken Ridge Road
For details, click on the address above or refer to the map below
Open days provide an opportunity to meet our guinea pigs on foster care, adopt, visit our QGPR Piggy Shop, purchase food and hay. You can also have your guinea pig groomed at our Piggy Parlour, which offers nail trims, mite and worm treatment, bathing (during warmer months only), grooming and clipping.
Don't forget to ask about our loyalty programs!
Note: We also have various food sales points in the Brisbane area.
Open Days Location
Qld Guinea Pig Refuge is turning 5 and we want you all to come and celebrate with us! Like previous years this event will be a chance for you to celebrate with us and your piggies!
Head over to the facebook event to keep up with our updates and announcements and register for free tickets that put you into the draw for lucky door prizes on the day!
QGPR Piggy Shop!
Not only do we sell our own Pig'n'Mix and hay at open days, we also have a large range of products at competitive pricing.
This includes hutches, bedding, water bottles and food bowls for your guinea pigs' every need. For more information on housing, click here.
The profits from all sales goes towards the guinea pigs in our care.
What should you feed your guinea pigs?
Diet is an extremely important, and sometimes unknown aspect of caring for guinea pigs. Qld Guinea Pig Refuge sells top quality grassy or barley hay and our own Pig'n'Mix so you know your guinea pigs are getting food that meets their dietary needs.
To help you help your guinea pigs, we've created our own recommended fruit and vegetables guidelines which can be downloaded from the link below.
Adoptables of the Month!
Harvey and Specter
What a pair! Harvey (left) and Specter are like chalk and cheese. Harvey is
the most chilled guinea pig ever whereas Specter is very lively indeed.
Both curious little boys and very sociable. They enjoy grass-time, running
through / hiding in tunnels and Specter loves to jump onto things!
They would suit a slightly older child, or at least one child to be older, due to Specter requiring a firm hand to stop him running off laps to explore! Harvey will also require some grooming to keep his beautiful hair clean and knot free.

Love Rabbits? Want to help?
As we know, rabbits are illegal pets in Queensland. However, that doesn't stop us from falling in love with them, and doesn't mean you can't help. If you would like to help rabbits in need, please consider donating or visit the Rabbit Sanctuary in Rushforth. The amazing team at the Rabbit Sanctuary offer homes to rescued and abandoned rabbits found in Queensland and do all their vet work to find them loving, forever and legal homes.
