Donut and Pretzel

Picture

Picture
Donut and Pretzel are two sweet texel girls.

Donut was surrendered pregnant to the RSPCA with her son. The RSPCA contacted us to see if we would be able to take them both and care for them. Both Donut and her son were unable to use their back legs correctly so were taken to our vet for X-rays to find out what the problem was. After numerous x-rays, it was determined that both guinea pigs had genetic issues and that their legs would permanently be in this state.

Donut gave birth to two babies, Pretzel and Diablo. As it was unsure if her babies would also develop problems with their legs they, as well as their mum and uncle, were all kept as permanent fosters. Donut lives with her daughter Pretzel and are monitored closely to make sure they are in no pain and that Donut doesn’t develop rub sores on her legs from dragging herself around.

If you could help us provide for Donut and Pretzel for the small sponsorship fee of $10.00 a week, we know they'd truly appreciate it!

If you're not in a position to sponsor Donut, you are able to make a one-off donation to cover the ongoing costs of their care. If you would like to help Donut this way, you can donate via PayPal at qldguineapigrefuge@live.com, or direct deposit to bank account Qld Guinea Pig Refuge Inc; BSB 124-006; Account 2207 4473. Send us an email via our Contact Us page so we can issue you with a receipt.

All sponsorship and one-off donations over $2 are completely tax deductible.
